New: chat is built into Peple

Talk to sellers and neighbours.

Ask a seller about what they offer, send photos, and plan things with your neighbours in group chats — all inside Peple, without sharing your phone number.

  • Free to use
  • Your number stays private
  • Block or report anytime

What you can do

Ask, share and plan, all in one place.

No need to save numbers or scroll through old messages. The seller, the item and your conversation stay together.

Ask a seller anything

Tap Message on a business, product or service. The chat shows what you’re asking about, so the seller knows straight away.

Your area’s community

Every neighbourhood has its own community on Peple, with groups such as Residents. Join in, or start your own group.

Photos and videos

Send a photo of what you need fixed, or the cake design you want. Sellers can reply with pictures too.

Quick group polls

Plan a building clean-up or pick a caterer. Choose whether voters’ names are shown or kept anonymous.

Share listings in chat

Found a good tailor? Share their service straight into a chat so friends can tap and see it.

You decide who gets through

Messages from people you don’t know wait in Message requests. Accept, decline or block — it’s up to you.

How to start

You can browse Peple without an account. You only need to log in when you want to message someone.

Your phone number isn’t shown in chat unless you’re already in each other’s contacts.

Questions

About chat.

Is chat free?

Yes. Messaging on Peple is free. You only need to log in with your mobile number.

Who can see my phone number?

Not other people in chat. Your number stays hidden unless you are already in each other’s phone contacts. If you call a business, they will see your number as with any phone call.

What can I send?

Text, emoji, photos and videos, polls, and Peple listings and profiles. You can also reply to a message or react to it.

Can I chat with people I already know?

Yes. In the Peple phone app, allow access to your contacts to see who is already on Peple and message them. You can also search for neighbours by name from the Chat tab.

What is a community?

Each neighbourhood on Peple has one community. It holds the groups for that area — like Residents — so you can find and join the ones you want.

Someone is bothering me. What do I do?

Open the chat and choose Block or Report. Blocked people can’t message you, and our team reviews every report.
